TINDALL ANNOUNCES 2021 SRC CAMPAIGN

TEAM VALLEY SERVICE & MOT CENTRE
23RD JUNE 2021

2020 proved to be a challenging year world wide with the Coronavirus Pandemic taking over and bringing most of the UK to a halt. This had a big consequence on rallying and meant the team were only able to fit in 3 rallies instead of a full calendar. After a promising start to the BTRDA National Forest championship with a strong result on the Cambrian Rally and a podium finish on the Malcolm Wilson Rally, North East youngster, Ewan Tindall led the BTRDA R2 Cup, Mixed Surface and Junior award before the championship was cancelled due to rounds not being able to run safely. A shame as Ewan had not drove Left hand drive or a R2 car on gravel before the opening stage on the first round, so he was growing in confidence and felt success was cut short.

When the opportunity to switch the 1600 Fiesta R2 for a next generation Fiesta R2T came around, Father Lee and Ewan jumped at the chance with an affordable deal being done to bring in the newer R2 car. They quickly got to work to give the car some much needed TLC, stripping the underside to paint mechanical components as well as under wheel arches etc. It then went away to the body shop to get a full respray, which the car went from White to Blue and some Fluro yellow powder coated wheels to finish it off.

Ewan Tindall - 'The focus for this year is to compete in the Scottish Rally Championship, which is made up of 5 events mixed surface across Scotland and North West England. As well as this we will contest several tarmac rounds selected throughout the year to build up experience in the new car on both surfaces. I am delighted to announce new title sponsors for this year – Team Valley Service & MOT, which I am incredibly grateful for their support and helping me compete this year. Since they were established in 2012, they have grown into the largest independent garage in the North East, operating from a 13,000 sq ft workshop on Octavian Way in Gateshead. Have 2 MOT testing bays offering Class 1, 2, 4, 5 & 7 MOTs, dealer diagnostics for Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes Benz, BMW & VW. I am looking forward to working with them throughout the year and hopefully it is the start of a successful North East pairing/partnership. More details can be found on: www.teamvalleymot.co.uk

I am also incredibly grateful to the 2300 Club Car Club for continuing their funding through the John Easson Award which I won back in 2019. Due to the cancellation of rallying last year they have rolled over the prize fund so I can use it in 2021 which is a big help towards this year.

I am excited to use Royal Purple Lubricants this year and receive assistance from DUO Media who will be helping me with my digital side of my motorsport. The countdown is now on until Andrew and myself tackle the first rally this season on the closed roads of the Argyll Rally.'
